Pedestrian Succumbs to Injuries Following Crash at McHenry and Fairmount in Modesto
Modesto, CA, June 8, 2025 – A female pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle at a Modesto intersection has died from her injuries, police confirmed Friday. The collision occurred around 9:10 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of McHenry and Fairmount avenues. According to the Modesto Police Department, a 2014 Kia Optima traveling northbound in the No. 1 lane struck the pedestrian under circumstances still under investigation. Emergency personnel responded quickly and transported the woman to a local hospital in critical condition. Despite extensive medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries days later. Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Kia remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation. No arrests have been made, and officials have not disclosed the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin.
