Petaluma, CA – Hugo Lopez Dies in Bicycle Accident on Industrial Avenue and Corona Road
Petaluma, CA (January 30, 2024) – A bicyclist, Hugo Lopez, tragically died after being involved in a collision with a vehicle earlier this month in Petaluma, according to the Petaluma Police Department. The accident occurred on January 11 at the intersection of Industrial Avenue and Corona Road. Authorities report that a driver was attempting to make a right turn when the vehicle collided with Lopez, who was riding his bicycle. Lopez, 62, from Rohnert Park, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with a head injury, where he was later pronounced deceased on January 17. The driver remained at the scene following the accident. The Petaluma Police Department is investigating the incident.
