Police Shoot Driver After Officers Injured During Oakland Traffic Stop
Oakland, CA – May 8 — Police shot a driver early Friday morning after the suspect allegedly dragged one officer and pinned another with a vehicle during a traffic stop in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 3:15 a.m. in the 1200 block of Ninth Avenue. Authorities said officers initiated a traffic stop for reasons that have not yet been disclosed. During the encounter, officers reportedly observed a firearm in plain view inside the vehicle. Investigators said the driver attempted to flee the scene, dragging one officer with the vehicle and pinning another officer against a parked car.
