Scooter Rider Killed in Watsonville Crash on 2nd Street
Watsonville, CA, May 6 – A man riding an electric scooter was killed in a collision with a pickup truck Wednesday afternoon in Watsonville, according to the Watsonville Police Department. Authorities said the crash was reported at approximately 1:52 p.m. on 2nd Street west of Rodriguez Street, near Watsonville Fire Station No. 1. Investigators reported that a 38-year-old man was operating an electric scooter when he became involved in a collision with a pickup truck under circumstances that remain unclear. Watsonville fire crews responded quickly to the scene and provided emergency medical assistance to the rider, who sustained critical injuries in the crash. The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
