Fresno, CA – June 29, 2025, A man who died in a high-speed collision Sunday morning while fleeing from an earlier crash in Downtown Fresno has been identified as 44-year-old Scott Beckwith of Fresno, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office. The fatal incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. on June 29 near the intersection of Fresno and H Streets. Authorities said the sequence began when a silver Chevy S10 driven by Beckwith rear-ended a Subaru at the intersection of P and Divisadero Streets. When the Subaru driver exited his vehicle to exchange information, Beckwith reportedly sped off at high speeds. Shortly after fleeing the scene, Beckwith lost control of the Chevy and slammed into a tree. Emergency personnel responded but pronounced him dead at the scene.
