Teen Driver Accused of Speeding Before Deadly East Bay Crash
Oakland, CA – May 19 — A teenage driver is accused of speeding and driving recklessly before a deadly crash Saturday night in Oakland that left multiple pedestrians dead and others injured, according to authorities. Investigators said the 17-year-old suspect was traveling northbound on 85th Avenue at speeds exceeding 50 mph before suddenly making a left turn onto International Boulevard. Police said the vehicle then crashed into several pedestrians near the intersection, resulting in multiple fatalities and injuries. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported injured victims to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities confirmed that several people died as a result of the collision.
