On Thursday, June 5, 2025, a collision occurred at the intersection of East American Avenue and South Maple Avenue in Fresno County, involving a Fresno County Fire engine and a Ford Bronco. The fire engine was en route to a nearby grass fire and had its emergency lights activated. The Bronco entered the intersection just as the fire engine crossed its path, leading to a collision where the front of the Bronco struck the left side of the fire engine. The impact caused the fire engine to roll over onto its side. The female driver of the Bronco was transported to Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) with moderate injuries. The two occupants of the fire engine were evaluated at the scene and did not require hospitalization
