Two Killed in Fiery Memorial Day Crash Possibly Tied to Domestic Dispute in South Gate
South Gate, CA, May 26, 2025 – A fiery crash in South Gate on Memorial Day morning claimed the life of one person and left another hospitalized, authorities said. The collision occurred around 6:28 a.m. on Monday, May 26, at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Garfield Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed one fatality. The other individual involved was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries, though their condition remains unknown.ABC7 reported that the crash occurred in a 7-Eleven parking lot and may be linked to an earlier domestic dispute in Paramount, roughly four miles from the scene. A witness reported a suspect arguing outside an apartment on Exeter Street for over an hour before driving off as deputies arrived. Authorities attempted to follow the vehicle, but lost sight of it shortly before the crash occurred.
