Woman, 86, Killed in Head-On Crash on Butler Avenue

Fresno, CA, June 30, 2025 – An 86-year-old woman tragically died following a head-on collision in Fresno on Sunday afternoon, June 30, according to local authorities. The crash occurred around 12:35 p.m. in the 5900 block of Butler Avenue, just west of Fowler Avenue. Initial reports indicate that two vehicles collided head-on under circumstances still under investigation. Emergency personnel responded to the scene and attempted life-saving measures on the elderly woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity has not yet been released pending family notification.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Bonds was driving eastbound in her Nissan Versa when her vehicle drifted into the westbound lane and struck a Chevrolet Silverado head-on. Emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene. The Silverado driver, a 20-year-old Fresno woman, was not injured. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors, and the CHP continues its investigation into the cause of the crash.
